Anyone who watches the
BBC2 show Dragon's Den will know
that it can be a daunting experience for many a would-be
entrepreneur. My appearance was no exception. I was nervous
as hell and my legs shook as I climbed the stairs into the
Dragons' Lair.
After 30 minutes of
grilling about production processes, costs of goods,
margins, sales to date (20,000 so far!) marketing and
competition, the Dragons'
decided that I didn't need their
money.
They said you've done
all the hard work and just need to get out there
and find two or three BIG customers. I'm
afraid the expected mauling didn't happen. I knew my
figures, I didn't fluff my presentation and, of course, that
doesn't make good TV! But above all, I had a great
product!
I am now following the Dragons'
advice looking for those BIG customers, so watch this space! |
